DPS-Modern Indian School Bids Farewell to Grade XII 2022-23
In an emotionally surcharged atmosphere, the students of Grade XI, staff and management of DPS-Modern Indian School bade adieu to the outgoing batch of Grade XII students (2022-23) on February 8, 2023. The day was a fiesta devoted to the years spent together and brought nostalgic moments alive in the minds of the attendees. The function was graced by the Chief Guest, Mr. Rocky Fernandes, Director DPS-MIS, Principal, Ms. Asna Nafees, Vice Principals, Ms. Soma Bhattacharjee, Ms. Mary Cruz and Ms. Shifa Shaikh, Headmistresses Ms. Sini Menon, Ms. Najla Bukhari, coordinators and teachers.
The formal function commenced with a short prayer followed by the ceremonial cutting of the cake, and address by Principal Ms. Asna Nafees. She appreciated the determination and dedication of the students which equipped them propel through the most difficult phase of humanity and encouraged them to face the outer world with grit, élan and confidence . By referring to the prey and predator relationship, she highlighted the importance of time management, concentration, discipline, planning and preparation, and urged the students to uphold the strong value system imbibed in them to bring a positive change around.
The Chief Guest, Mr. Rocky Fernandes, Director DPS-MIS commended the uncommon zeal of the students demonstrated throughout the challenging times and mentioned that their legacy of achievements and success will be followed by upcoming batches. “Try not to become a person of success, but rather try to become a person of value”, with these words of Albert Einstein, he inspired the young adults to be the ambassadors of peace unity and integrity.
Head Boy, Vidit Dalal and Head Girl, Tejaswi Manoj , and members of the Prefectorial body 2022-23 in their nostalgic speeches, recollected their time as young students and stressed on the importance of school life in shaping one’s destiny. They expressed their gratitude towards the management, Principal and the teachers for their endearing efforts in grooming them and preparing them for the life ahead.
The budding stars of Grade XI maintained a lively mood by their mesmerizing dance performance and pulsating music in amalgamation with the terrific students’ band. A skit depicting the class atmosphere during an examination generated bouts of laughter. A video montage of principal, vice-principals and teachers sharing words of advice and encouragement was the highlight of the day.
It was indeed a memorable day to be cherished as a hallmark of joy and solemness.
